Qi Gong is a practice of aligning breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation. With roots in Chinese medicine, martial arts, and philosophy, Qi Gong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance “Qi” - translated as “energy”. Typically a Qi Gong practice involves rhythmic breathing coordinated with slow stylized repetition of fluid movement, a calm mindful state, and visualization of guiding Qi through the body.

We invite you to a reinvented ball that goes back to the traditional dances in groups and in couples, adapted for the 21st Century's dancers, who are used to rocking the dance floor with a more personal style...
With a broad experience ranging from traditional European dances, Contemporary Dance, and Qigong practice, Marceau will accompany us through this journey of discovery; exploring the movement of our body and our qi, the interaction with other people and with the whole group.
Based on the Qidance method, this Ball Jam is a opportunity to dive deep into the flow of qi, the energy that moves within us and around us; gaining awareness of the subtle movement within us and the dynamics of the group. Suited to anyone who loves dancing; you just need to bring comfortable clothes and socks and some water to drink.

Qi Gong Workshop at Shanghai Sculpture Park : Ba Duan Jin
During this workshop we will practice an old form of the 8 pieces of Brocade. This workshop is a training review for attendees of the long term Qi Gong training, at Shanghai Qi Gong Institute. This outside workshop is also open to friends, family and people who want discover this deep and complete form of Ba Duan Jin. A good set of exercises to stretch muscle, joints and ligaments, and practice the circulation of Qi preservation of Health.

Introduction to the "Six Sounds Qi Gong" - at the Shanghai QI Gong Institut : Saturday the 15th of December
Liu Zi Jue (Qi Gong of the Six Sounds), also called Liu Zi Qi Jue, is a method for body building and health preservation. As Qi in various organs moves and regulates, the rising, descending, coming in and going out of Qi Movement between different organs form the harmonious unity of opposites in the body, thus to ensure continuous substance in-taking from nature and maintain metabolism and dynamic balance of energy conversion through transformation, purification and excretion, and to accomplish metabolism of the whole body and promote normal life activities. This series of exercises interpret the basic TCM theories and methods of Health Qigong - Liu Zi Jue and theirs body building effects by means of leading Qi by sound with coordination of body to regulate the organs.
Les 6 sons sont relies aux 5 organes : foie, coeur, rate, poumons, reins et le triple rechauffeur. Chaque son travaille specifiquement un systeme. C’est un travail interne, profond. L’intention joue un role particulierement important : "L’intention conduit le son a agir sur les organes".
六字诀,又称六字气诀,是以呼吸吐纳为主要手段的健身养生方法。由于人体各脏腑之气的运动调畅,各脏腑之间的气机升降出入处于一个协调的对立统一体中,从而保证了人体不断地从自然界中摄取生命活动的所需物质,并通过气化作用,升清降浊,摄取精微,排泄废物,维持物质代谢和能量转换的动态平衡,共同完成整个机体的新陈代谢,促进了生命活动的正常进行。本功法通过声音引气,配合导引形体来调节脏腑气机,本文运用中医基础理论对健身气功·六字诀的功理功法及健身效应进行诠释。

The 8th of December 2012: Workshop and visit of the Museum of Qi Gong
Qi Dance Company in collaboration with Open Up is organising a special Qi Gong workshop, to prepare the opening of the International Training of YangSheng Qigong at the SHANGHAI QIGONG INSTITUT.
Exclusively for us, the Qi Gong museum will open their door to the ancient knowledge of medical art of Qi Gong (normally the museum is not open to the public). A Qi Gong doctor from the clinic will be there to explain and give us an initiation of Qi Gong. Program : 1h of Qi Gong workshop + 1h of visit of the museum. The workshop will be in Chinese, translated in English.
